Electric Hybrid
We’re partnering with ALFA to repower Alaska’s first hybrid combo commercial fishing vessel. This boat will longline for halibut and black cod, and power troll for salmon, all on a fully integrated diesel-electric hybrid system. We're working directly with system designers and powertrain engineers to create a reliable, redundant setup tailored to real-world fishing in Alaska. This project is a major step forward in hybrid propulsion for working boats—more details coming soon.
Commercial Vessel Outfitting
Through our extensive experience in commercial fishing and operating charter boats, we have cultivated strong partnerships with vessel owners. Together, we collaborate to design more efficient fishing equipment and vessel systems. Fish processing tables and equipment, booms, davits, masts, trolling poles, bait sheds and awnings, fish hold stanchions and bin boards, as well as replacement of windows and doors.
Vessel Repower & Refurbishing
Whether it’s a commercial longliner or a charter boat, we work on vessels of all sizes to upgrade, restore, and extend their working life. That includes inboard to outboard conversions, full mechanical repowers, hull and fuel tank repairs, paint stripping and refinishing, interior updates, windows, doors, decks, and fishing systems. We take care of both the functional side and the aesthetic—from structure to finish work.
General Welding & Fabrication
We specialize in aluminum welding and fabrication, both on and off the water. We employ licensed and certified welders skilled in structural steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Our domestic fabrication services encompass engineered gangway and bridge designs, custom railings and stairs, specialized trailers, truck racks and accessories, building flashings, and other bespoke fabrication projects.
Sandblasting & Painting
Most paint systems last approximately fifteen years before requiring sanding or sandblasting. Moisture cure and epoxy paints are used, with a focus on cleanliness and proper application. A new paint job can restore the appearance of a vessel. Additionally, a controlled environment is provided for custom paint jobs.
Jeremy and the boys helped me with a sand blasting job. It's one of those small jobs that is annoying because setup is twice as long as the actual job. He got my project done quickly and back out on the water. In my opinion, Sitka Custom Marine is one of those businesses that helps build a community and our local fleet.
